Unspoken words 001

Big Blue Skies, Little Blue Smiles

When emotions are too loud to be spoken, it is writing that helps unveil the unspoken feelings.

Big are the blue skies. In a bright, windy day, everyone finds it arduous to hide its eternal beauty. Kites sway beneath, clouds float around, and birds soar above it. Everyone finds delight in the big blue sky, loved the burning orange in the nightfall, and enraptured by the cool yellow breeze in the dawn. Oh, how vast is the big blue sky, a million eyes are pleased never knowing when to stop adoring.

In a dark stormy night, no one dares to look at it. Dangerous and fearing are its heavy cry and loud shouts. Everyone hides from its hideous sight. Men closed their doors and children hide on their bed. All alone; no one to call home.

Who is a like big blue sky who is nothing but filled with little blue smiles? Tears hidden on a plain sight, Anger flamed like a burning orange in the nightfall, and Desolated like a lonely Biden in the dawn.

How pitiful are the big blue skies. An epitome of a man whose nights are full of fears and cries. Not really hopeless, just tired with the little white lies. Everyone is there only without the little blue smiles. Always left behind, always last to remind. Tired and lonely is the big blue sky, filled with nothing but its little blue smiles.

All is well, my heart, it fell. A picture, one night, only to tell how I am a big blue sky. In gladness, everyone finds delight in me. In wretchedness, no one cares to feast and sit with me. For I am nothing but a big blue sky with little blue smiles that is too complicated to comprehend and too far to be reached like a red star in the night sky.

I love the big blue skies; it is beautiful even in its dark stormy nights. Fearful, yet reasonable to be angry, mad, and distress. Here I am, big blue sky. Show your beautiful blue smiles. It is who you are. Your emotions, like rainbows, it comes in all rays. One color after another, complementing and strengthening each other.

I am nothing but a big blue sky with little blue smiles, and I love every single part of it.

Cold wind and sunrise
Fried egg and steamed rice
Coffee and its filter
Your jokes and my laughter

Warm hugs and sunset
Candles and wine glass
Biscuits and a basket
The color of our eyes

They matched each other
Like bread and butter
Hoping for forever
You and me together

When falling out of love

Falling in love is like a windy day. Most people loved it—the cool breeze of the wind and colorful kites in the sky, children playing outside, and people like me, the best day to read a book under a tree. An ideal day it is. A windy day may be an ideal day, but not everyone loves it. Some people were reminded of how a windy day caused their important papers to fly in the sky. While some were reminded of how the windy day amplified the fire in their community. Just like windy days, falling in love is not for everyone. But when someone does fall in love, it sure is the best feeling they felt. Furthermore, just as how the weather changes, so does the feeling of falling in love, and like a candle, love sometimes runs out. The wind was too strong, and its wick was never enough to keep the fire burning.

When falling out of love, everything you do from then on will all be a lie. It will always feel like a silent break-up. One of you will start to be cold for the candle has already burnt out. From having small arguments to cold wars and patterns of small fights will be noticeable, and more damage will be done rather than healing. Love becomes more complicated, more draining, and more damaging than it was before. Falling out of love is something we did not choose, it is something we start to feel. Compare to liking someone, we get to choose whom to like and dislike. Falling in love is way much deeper than simply liking someone, and falling out of love is as painful as being numb. It is as painful as losing a part of you that was once expressed confidently. Being numb is the most painful feeling when in a relationship. Regardless of the sweet words, you hear from your lover, you don’t feel anything.  From saying “you are my everything” to “you are not enough.” From yesterday, it was “laughing with you.” Now, it is all “crying because of you.”

Falling out of love is something we cannot foresee, but some therapists say it is preventable. Maybe to some, but then again, not all sayings apply to everyone. To fall in love once more is something that would require effort. It would require intimate and sincere communication from both sides. Most of the time, falling in love is something we deny but let us always remember that to be honest about what you feel is better than a thousand lies. If we want to fall in love again with the same person, we must always remember to be honest at all costs. To prioritize aching truth over sweet lies. To be open to correction and changes. Above all else, to fall in love again would require the both of you to start again. If we allow ourselves once more to fall in love with the same person, I believe it would be as sweet as being in love again as if it’s the first time.

What comes after?

Practicality over passion is what most high school students hear from their parents,
especially from financially unstable families. The chance of doing the things that they love
was stolen from them. It felt like eating your most miniature favorite food but had to do it
because you were starving. It gives you a sense of gratitude because you have something
to eat but are never satisfied. Choosing something you love without toxic pressure will
always feel like living your purpose. But that is not always the case. Along the way, despite
selecting the course you love, you will feel empty. You will start to compare your
capabilities with others, and the worst of all, doubting yourself repeatedly if it is the right
decision to choose a course without a guarantee of a high salary. If I were to ask which
is better, a course that I like or a course that is practical? I would choose neither.

This question will always be answered with the help of another query: would you
love the things you do after you graduate? Most students think this through because their
effect will be seen on what comes after graduation. I chose neither of the choices because
we, people, never get to learn how to be satisfied. Regardless of how high our salary is
or how we love our course and future job, we always get to compare ourselves with
others. On my end, if people would stop making decisions for the applause of many,
especially our family, there is a guarantee that whatever you choose, there will be no
regrets. If you select practicality over your passion, it’s okay. If you decide passion over
practicality, then good for you. What matters is what comes after your decision. If
your decision will let you fall into a cycle of regrets, then that would be the problem. Some people
choose to be selfless and choose practicality to help their families. But choosing your passion,
even though it may cost you your family or social life is not selfishness, but an act of self-love.

As a medical technology student in the Philippines, I would never certify a high
salary, yet I expect to be overworked. Will I regret it in the future? No. Because doing that
job always makes me feel like slowly eating a small portion of my favorite food. It may
never be enough in the eyes of many, but it will surely satisfy me. What matters to me
are the things that come after. How about you? Do you regret choosing the program you
selected? If not, then good for you. If yes, I think it’s time for you to reroute your choices.
Practicality will bear the same weight as your passion, if and only if, you do not regret what comes after.

Catching up!

Guess what? I am already a college student! I am proud to say that I am now a first-year student under Bachelor of Science major in Clinical Laboratory Science, also known as Medical Technology. I have to be honest, and it is not as smooth as I thought it would be. Looking back on my first semester, I was surprised by my first quiz. I got 15/20 in Human Anatomy and Physiology! But, on my second quiz, I got 2/20, haha! The first half of the semester breaks me. I kept getting low scores and felt unmotivated with the current setup (online classes). The first semester is finished, and now I am working on my second semester. By the way, I haven’t told you yet that I got qualified in the Institue of Arts and Sciences student council! I am now an executive committee under Project Implementation and Logistics committee.

The Second Semester is more different than the first semester, and to be honest, I like the second semester more than the first. I have this professor in Cytogenetics who is a ray of sunshine. He made me love the subject, and you can tell that he is a great prof. (shoutout to you, Doctor Gian Carlo Gonzaga!) He even called me a doctor (teary eye). A doctor calling me a doctor felt like a dream! To catch up, I am now studying for my midterm exams held on the third week of March 2022. I am now applying my learnings so far regarding study habits. Speaking of study habits, I am currently reading a book. One is The Alchemist, and the other is the Atomic Habits. I am also pursuing my crochet habit, and I just ordered a new set of yarn online. I am aiming to create an oversized sweater for myself!

Just an update! I am now 18, turning 19 this May. I want to attain maturity in some aspects of my life and be able to develop a new system new lifestyle. The books I am currently reading will be my mentor, and let’s see!!!! Bye for now!

Building New Hobbies

Trying hard but I’ll get there (picture not mine)

Like crocheting, the more time, effort, and love you put into it, the more it become beautiful. I’ve convinced myself to continually invest on things that, in the future, I would appreciate. Since this late April, I promised myself to know myself more. I started picking out my favorite color, my favorite time of the day⛅, my favorite taste in coffee☕, and even my favorite emoji 🥱. Things are actually going well and the more I observe myself, the more I learn. Right now, I’ve been focusing on my social life. I’m having thoughts if I am an introvert or an ambivert. I like going out but I get drain easily. But there’s this one thing I’m sure about myself, which is, I always love being alone. It loses all the pressure, the fact that I don’t need to please anyone, and the fact that I have all the time to do anything that I want.

This recent week, I’ve been waking up as early as 5:00 in the morning and after few moments of meditating and contemplating, I happily clean the house. Not because of the fact that I am a good child (which certainly am not) but due to the fact that I feel as though I am the only one living in that house (Yes to Independence!). There are times, yes, wherein my brother wakes up with me, but for the sake of cleaning happily, I just pretend that he didn’t exist so I that I can clean the house without a problem.

I’ve convinced myself to start a new hobby and have decided to bought a crochet set. It sounds exciting but my friend seriously wishes me good luck. She told me that she once started crocheting, but later on she eventually give-up. I just hope and pray to be consistent. My school will start next month, so I might as well do things that I may not be able to do once the school starts.

New beginning

Thanks to Google!

Good day! Since yesterday, I’ve decided to write blogs for future purposes. First reason is because my desire to improve my writing skills. As you can see, my writings are bland and my vocabularies are as same level as grade 7 students. From now on, I’ll be posting blogs every Friday to see how I improve. Second, I want to keep myself updated. I want to know how’s my week going, and also I want you to learn from myself. I hope this blog won’t be just entertaining (and please not boring), but also be an inspiration to others. I’ll be a college student next academic year and I’ll be taking a pre-med course then straight to med school, I want to look back on this blog 5 years from now. To all the inspiring doctors out there, LET’S FIGHT FOR OUR DREAMS!

My daily Routine

Starting next week I want to have a new daily routine that would help me to become more productive compared last year. Rating my productivity last year, I could say it’s 7/10. Due to pandemic, I’ve done lots of things especially in academics. Since College Entrance Tests (CETs) are coming soon, waking up early and reviewing for the upcoming tests was my daily routine. I remembered waking up as early as 5 and starting my day with a prayer. After the prayer meeting, a sip of coffee to start the day is the best feeling for me HAHAHAHA. Then, I’ll proceed to cleaning my room, then, start reviewing.

This year, I want to be more productive. Which means, no late submissions and cramming. No to laziness, and yes to exercise, reading, and studying. If I maintain this kind of routine I can produce the best results in everything that I’ll do. As for the readers, stay tuned coz once that I’ve made this routine consistent, I’ll give you tips and it might help you. See you soon!

Staying Organized

Who, me? Organized? To be honest, I’m not haha. Well I’d love to be an organize student but I’m still on the process HAHAHAHAHA. I’ll update you once that I’ve learned how to be organized. Soon.

!UPDATE!

As of 24th July, year 2021, I bought a set of organizers via online. This would really help me organize my books, papers, and even pens. I am so excited to make my desk clean and organize. Will update you soon!
